Tomato Paratha

I usually look for some instant recipes to cook whenever I dont feel like cooking. My mom makes tomato dosas with tomatoes, gram flour and plain flour being the main ingredients. I simply used the same ingredients with little changes using wheat flour. They turned out delicious!

Ingredients:

2 cups whole wheat flour

2 small tomatoes

2 tbsps chopped onions

1 tbsp gram flour(besan)

2 green chillies

1/2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves

1 tsp coriander powder

1/2 tsp red chilli powder

1/2 tsp turmeric powder

1 tsp gingergarlic paste

1 tsp salt

2-3 tbsp oil/ghee

Method:

1. Grind chopped tomatoes, onions, green chillies together into coarse puree.

2. Mix together wheat flour, pureed tomato paste, besan, ginger garlic paste, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, coriander leaves, salt and combine well. Add water little at a time and mix it, now add 2 tbsp oil and make a smooth dough. Cover it and keep it aside for 10 minutes.

3. Take the dough and make equal sized balls and roll the balls into round shaped chapati with a rolling pin by dusting little flour.

4.Heat a tawa and place the chapati on it and cook for a minute, flip it and apply oil or ghee, the lower side should be cooked then flip again apply ghee and cook it well.

5. Serve the parathas with pickle or curd.
